Realizing your potential --Reading(I)                                        

I. Learning objectives

1.Know about the structure and some details of the speech;

2.Master the reading skills such as prediction, skimming and scanning.

3.Adopt a positive attitude towards study at senior high school.

 

II. Key competence focus

1.Understand the main idea of each paragraph.  2. Know some reading skills.

 

. Teaching procedures

Step one. Before reading

1. Greetings.

2. Lead-in

(1).Watch & answer: How did you feel on your first day in Xinhuang No.1 Middle school?

(2). Prediction: Students predict some information about the speech according to the  title and picture.

 

Step two: While reading

Task 1. Fast reading-skimming

  1. Read the speech and find the topic sentence for each paragraph
