《The important papers 》

《重要的纸》

Characters: The King, the Queen, Servant  

人物：国王、王后、仆人

Setting: The King’s castle. King’s armchair is empty. Queen sits in her armchair, reading.

场景：国王的城堡。国王的扶手椅空着。王后坐在自己的扶手椅上，在看书。King enters.

国王上。

Where are all of our servants?

我们的仆人都上哪儿去了？

They are so lazy.

一群懒鬼。

yells

叫喊

SERVANT!

仆人！

Servant enters.

仆人上。

Yes, sir. What can I bring you?陛下，您需要什么？

I need, no, I must have, my (gives a serious look at Servant) important papers. (sits down)

我需要，不，我必须拿到我的（非常严肃地看着仆人）重要的纸。（坐下）

Servant exits, comes back in with a pile of official-looking papers and gives them to King.

仆人拿着一摞公文上场并将它们呈给国王。

What are these? 这都是些什么？

(throws them at Servant in anger)

(生气地将文件扔向仆人)

No, no, no, bring my important papers! 

不对，不对，不对，把我重要的纸拿来！

Servant bows, dashes out, comes back in with a newspaper.

仆人鞠了一躬，匆忙离去，之后手持一份报纸重新上场。

No, you fool!不对，你这个傻瓜！

(tears the paper in two)

(将报纸扯为两半)

I must have my important papers RIGHT NOW!!! 

我必须立刻拿到我的重要的纸！

Servant exits, comes back in with a magazine. 

仆人退下，之后手持一本杂志重新上场。

Ahhhh!

啊呀呀呀！

(takes magazine and runs after Servant. Servant runs away)

抓起杂志，追赶仆人，仆人逃下

Bring ... my ... important ... papers ... NOW!

把……我的……重要的……纸……拿来……现在就要！

It’s an emergency!

情况紧急！

(to Queen)

(转向王后)

Tell him, dear!

亲爱的，你跟他说！

Umm, (standing, announcing officially) the King requires his important papers.嗯，（起身，庄重宣布）国王陛下急需他的重要的纸。

It is your duty to bring them to him at once. 

立即将它们送达国王陛下是你的职责。

(to King)(转向国王)

OK? 

行吗？

(King moves around in chair, looking uncomfortable.)

(国王在座位上不停地挪动着身体，显得极不舒服。)

Are you okay? 

你没事吧？

You seem ... anxious ...你看上去……很着急……

I’m fine.

我没事，

I just need my (with a serious voice) important papers.

我只是需要我的（声音严肃地）重要的纸。

Servant bursts in, next to Queen, empty-handed and looking worried.

仆人冲上舞台，来到王后身边，两手空空，面带焦虑。

Queen points to a dictionary, or poster on the wall, etc. 

王后指向一本词典或者是墙上的招贴画之类的东西，

 Servant runs to get it and presents it to King.

仆人就赶紧跑过去拿了呈给国王。

NO NO NO NO!

不对不对不对不对！

That is not right. 

那不对！

Someone must be able to bring my important papers! 

有人一定能将我重要的纸拿来！

Queen tears a page from her book and offers it to King.

王后从自己的书上扯下一页，送给国王。

He glares at Queen.

他瞪着王后。

Servant dashes out, comes back in with something behind his back.

仆人又上场，身后藏着什么东西。

Sir?

陛下？

holds out a roll of toilet paper

递上一卷卫生纸

Yes!

对了！

My VERY important papers!

这就是我最最重要的纸！

runs off stage as fast as possible, running into people and things on the way out

飞速冲下舞台，在出去路上撞到人和东西......
