在常规教学中,语言点是教学的重要内容,这是一个不争的事实。不论对话课文还是篇章课文,大多数老师都是以语言点的讲解和例释为教学过程中不可缺少的重要组成部分,并结合练习性活动或理解性检查,从而完成课文教学。但是语言点的教学多半是枯燥乏味的。因此语言点教学的多样化、趣味化就显得尤其重要了。因为只有多样了,有趣了,学生才会“乐学” 、“好学” 课文语言点,。下面就自己在处理课文语言点的一些方法做一个总结。
1. 要求学生根据句型自由造句。
比如在教授can’t help这个词组时,可以要求学生自由造句。
I can’t help thanking my parents for what they have done for us.
They couldn’t help jumping with joy at the good news.
The students can’t help asking the scientists many questions.
2. 要求学生根据情景造句。
比如在教授“以…..为荣”时,可以要求学生根据情景造句。
We are proud of studying in Xinhuang No.1 Middle School.
We take pride in studying in Xinhuang No.1 Middle School.
We pride ourselves on studying in Xinhuang No.1 Middle School.
3. 句子转换。
比如在翻译“怀化值得参观。”这句话时,可以要求学生用不同的句型结构来进行句子转换。
Huaihua is worth a visit.
Huaihua is worth visiting.
Huaihua is worthy of a visit.
Huaihua is worthy of being visited.
Huaihua is worthy to be visited.
It is worth people’s while to visit/ visiting Huaihua.
4. 动词填空。
1 Everyone knows that people's life_____ (change) a lot in the past twenty years.
2 Each of them ______ (think) that they will win the coming singing competition.
3 We were interested _______ (discuss) the problem at the moment.
5. 完成句子。
最常见的题目要求就是“根据题目要求完成句子。”。
A memorial meeting was held in honor of / in memory of (为了纪念) the world-famous singer.
As far as I am concerned, city life is superior to country life beyond comparison (无可比拟).
The education system varies in America depending on (根据) the state you live in.
6. 翻译。
“翻译”不论是汉语翻译成英语,还是英语翻译成汉语,都是非常有效的教授语言点的方法。如:
Opportunities always favor the prepared mind.
机会总是垂青有准备的人。
他生病是由于缺乏体育锻炼和不健康的饮食而导致的(arise out of)。
His illness arose out of his lack of exercise and unhealthy diet.
7. 选择。
最常见的题目就是“单项选择”。
________, but he still could not understand it.
A. He had been told many times
B. Having been told many times
C. Told many times
D. Although he had been told many times
8. 改写句子。
顾名思义,就是用另一种方式来表达原来的句子。
Playing computers games not only is a waste of time, but it also has a bad effect on our studies.
Not only is playing computer games a waste of time, but it also has a bad effect on our studies.
9. 归类。
把单词按照类别归类。如“与气候相关”、“与旅行相关”、“与环境相关”、“与建筑相关”等。比如,provide,supply,offer 都表示“提供”的意思。这样做,有助于帮助学生分清楚同义词之间的不同用法。
10. 仿照句子造句。
Beijing is an ancient city, where history can be tasted, felt, touched, even smelt.
• With spring coming on, beauty can be felt, smelt, touched, even tasted everywhere.
• Australian people are very friendly so that friendliness can be felt, smelt, touched, even tasted everywhere.
当然还有更多的更好的教授方法。除了方法多样化、趣味化以外,教师应当留给学生更多的活动时间,启发多于灌输。学生不要总是处于被动的听、记、背、练的苦学之中;不要只重视对现有结论的记忆,而忽视学习的过程,忽视学生个体差异的创造才能,使学生缺乏兴趣。因此,我们在研究教的同时,也研究学生的学。英语教学是一个师生共同参与的过程,教师的角色应像导演一样,指导学生进行各种各样的课堂活动,教师还要指导学生主动参与各种有意义的、交际性的语言活动,帮助学生养成良好的学习习惯,指导他们掌握科学的学习方法,使他们乐学更善学“乐学” 、“好学” 课文语言点。
